Never noticed this before. As strolling past Trafalgar Square I saw the statue of Charles the first....

The stickers on that sign are also worth noting. Someone’s slapped a Jesus Saves message on there, over which a rationalist sticker has been placed. Who knew that Barnet was a hotbed of socio-theosophical debate.
There is some top socio-theosophical debate in my local. Only problem is it takes place on the walls of the gents cubicles. Taking a picture could prove tricky…
You can do it Dave – your next mission!
Yes M@, I quite liked the look of defacing – there’s something grimy and lived in about it. I get the feeling it’s quite a religious place, I had a lovely coffee in a Jewish cafe not long before taking this picture that had religious symbols everywhere and everything.
Barnet is a strange place. It’s a Tory borough but we have strong trade unionism – necessitated by the Tories’ attacks on our services that started long before the Coalition. I’m told that Barnet’s got the highest Jewish population in London, but I’ve never gotten the sense it’s particularly religious.
You’ll get places as varied as Mill Hill, Oakleigh and Burnt Oak – all very different places yet contained in one borough.
