Paid Intern working for Leader of Opposition, House of Lords

Job Details:

The Leader of the Opposition in the House of Lords is looking for a motivated and hardworking individual to join the Opposition team in the House of Lords for a month as a paid intern.

Requirements for applicants:

– keen interest in and knowledge of politics and Parliament

– new media experience: website and social media

– good IT and administrative skills

The post would suit a recent graduate, and is a good opportunity for an individual keen to gain experience of working in Parliament.

Duties will include:

– new media work

– general administration

– research assistance

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See www.w4mp.org/html/msvo/main.asp for further info.

Interview/Start Dates: We will interview and appoint as soon as possible after the closing date.  Applicants will need to be able to start immediately.
