Can you help the development of the newly restored Clissold House?

 

The Role

The newly restored Clissold Park and House offers significant learning opportunities related to heritage and nature. This role will develop and enhance these opportunities, working to communicate them to the residents of Hackney, one of the most diverse boroughs in the country.

This individual will undertake outreach work to advance relationships with key stakeholders and service users, working with colleagues in the Parks Department, the wider Health and Wellbeing division as well as other organisations to develop and manage a learning programme at Clissold Park.

 

The Requirements

  • Relevant degree and/or qualification in education, history, environment, or equivalent.
  • Thorough understanding of the current debates around informal and formal learning, alongside experience of planning, implementing and delivering a learning programme in a relevant environment (for example museums, galleries, and/or parks).
  • Understanding of the role of equality and diversity in a multi-cultural borough and ability to innovate and communicate effectively in a variety of ways.
  • Experience of managing projects and budgets.

 

Responsibilities

The Officer will coordinate and deliver formal and informal learning activity such as trails, tours, wildlife and history sessions and other engagement activities for adults, children and families, ensuring that sessions are high quality, innovative, accessible and relevant to key educational agenda’s and the themes of Clissold Park.

The programme should complement and, where relevant, tie in with other programmes and events across the Health and Wellbeing division and encourage usage of the park by a wide range of our very diverse communities.

 

The Individual

A self starter with ability to work with the minimum of direct supervision and to prioritise tasks on own initiative with a willingness and ability to work in partnership with a wide range of individuals, colleagues and organisations

This role may require working outside the normal pattern of working hours and mobility.
