The Role:
To provide an efficient, professional chauffeur service to our General Secretary, ensuring that the General Secretary arrives punctually to all engagements and that the company car is maintained and serviced to a high standard.
Key Areas:
The GS’ PA will ensure that all details of diary arrangements including times and venues are provided but it is the responsibility of the chauffeur to ensure the following :
> that exact travel directions are checked;
> to ensure that the safest, quickest route is taken;
> to endure the GS always arrives punctually to any events, engagements or meetings;
> to check and ensure that there are not going to be any potential hold ups on the journey;
> to ensure suitable parking arrangements are in place on arrival;
> to ensure that the car is always ready and waiting for the GS when he is about to leave the office or returning from an engagement;
> to check the anticipated time of arrival or the time of departure;
> to ensure that the GS will be able to exit the car in a safe and suitable place;
> to ensure that the GS will be able to get back in the car in a suitable and safe place;
> to always check what time the GS is going to need the car to be available;
> to ensure that there are no parking restrictions in order to avoid any parking penalties, entering zigzag boxes or any other similar offences including any speeding or traffic offences. Failure to do so will result in the Chauffeur having to pay such monies;
> To liaise on a regular basis with the GS’ PA as follows:
> To meet on a Mon and Fri to run through the schedule
> To call each morning to check if there are any changes to the daily itinerary
Other Areas of Responsibility:
> Collect and return the GS from his home daily
> To collect newspapers each morning before collecting the GS from his home
> Ensure that there is always a quantity of water and fruit in the car
> To ensure that the inside of the car is always kept clean and tidy
> To ensure the car/s are regularly serviced
> To ensure that the bodywork of the car is regularly cleaned and maintained
> To ensure that the car always has sufficient fuel
> To ensure that the engine and other mechanical maintenance of the car is maintained.
> Any receipts for expenditure to be affixed to the correct timesheet
Person Specification:
> Solid experience in a similar executive chauffeur role
> A suitable driving qualification i.e. ROSPA / PCO Licence
> Good Written and oral skills
> Good communication skills
> Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
> To be able to be pro-active and show initiative
> Must be of smart appearance and impeccably groomed
Remuneration:
> A self employed Chauffeur is required
> Salary : £10 per hour – flat rate
> Plus 1 hour travelling to the General Secretary’s home each day
> Lunch mean allowance : £5 per day
> Evening meal allowance : £10 per day
>Overnights : Accommodation provided
> Overnight Rate : £5 per hour upon arriving at destination up until needed the following day
> At times when the General Secretary is away from the office or on annual leave, the payment of 5 hours pay will still be made on a daily basis.
