Strolling past Liverpool Street station a couple of weeks ago I came across the ice-rink – before the ice had formed and took a quick snap.
It’s probably obvious to most people how rinks work but I’d never thought about it before so thought I’d pass on the info. You can see here there are a whole number of cold pipes in circles within circles so the ice forms evenly and, unlike ice skating in the wild there’s no pool of water underneath to fall into if the ice cracks – which it wont.
